Microsoft giving a free offer for windows 8 and windows 7 user. As Microsoft says windows 10 worth 119$, but they are going to give it free for windows 8 and 7 users. To have this offer you should have up-to-date updated, your OS. another words, should have latest updates. Then Microsoft will give you "Get windows 10" app through the update. If you got the app check below right corner.
If you can see window button you have chance to enjoy free full version of windows. You can see reserve button there (you can't see it in mine, because I had already reserved it.)
The app provide functionality to check whether the computer meets the system requirements need. So you can check whether its worth to have the windows 10 update.
After you successfully reserved your copy, you can see below window in the "Windows Update" window
So your reservation is done. If you don't see "Get windows 10" app that means you have to update your operating system. Here what I mean by genuine is can your windows version can update without any errors ;) . Anyway The update is going to release on 29th July. This Free edition offer valid till, 29th July.
